This page describes how to assemble the frame of the Mantis Rover-SE

Parts Needed

Instructions

  1. Retrieve one of the elbow mount assemblies with the letter “R” and insert a short tube in the opening opposite the Letter on the elbow mount assembly then Insert a Long Tube into the remaining perpendicular opening.

  2. Rotate each of the tubes such that the holes are aligned with the top and bottom posts in the openings of the elbow mount assembly.

  1. Push down the upper body elbow mount until the posts are inside of the holes in each tube.

  1. Tighten all the screws on the elbow mount assembly using the 3mm Drive Hex L-Key.

Hold assembly such that the M4 nylon lock nut is on top while tightening.

  1. Retrieve one of the elbow mount assemblies with the letter “L” and insert a Short Tube inside of the opening opposite the letter “L”.

  1. Place the tightened right elbow mount assembly with the short and long tubes on a flat surface. slide the long tube portion into the remaining perpendicular opening on the left elbow mount assembly.

  1. Rotate the short tube in the left elbow mount assembly such that the holes are facing up, then press down on the left upper body elbow mount ensuring that the posts from the openings of the elbow mount are inserted into the holes on the short and long tubes.

  1. Tighten all screws on the newly attached left elbow mount assembly. It may be necessary to rotate the entire assembly so that the M4 lock nuts can properly anchor while tightening.

  1. Insert the last remaining long tube into the perpendicular openings of the remaining right and left elbow mount assemblies.

  1. Place the previously tightened elbow mount assembly on a flat surface such that the 2 short tubes are facing up, then insert the 2 short tubes into the openings of the remaining right and left elbow mount assemblies while they are still connected with the last remaining long tube.

  1. Rotate the long tube between the two remaining elbow mount assemblies until its holes are aligned with the posts on the elbow mount assemblies.

  1. Tighten the screws of each of the newly attached elbow mount assembly while squeezing the upper and lower elbow mount parts together such that the tube holes are inserted into the post on the assemblies
